Abstract

The aim of this research project was to correlate the type and severity of leg injuries to the shape and mechanical properties of the vehicle front structures in simulated car-pedestrian accidents. The study was limited to adults and was run in parallel to a real car-pedestrian accident study at the department of orthopaedic surgery ii, university of goeteborg. The research was performed in several steps including theoretical analysis and mechanical experiments. (A)
