Abstract

Research on mental representations of road sites and situations of interactions between users had shown how knowledge for the driving task was structured. This work deals with a comparison between the representation of experienced subjects and beginners. The experimentations shows a good similarity of results for those two groups of drivers. However the procedures used are appreciable different, showing that experienced drivers are able to globally treat road space and its environment, before making them more precise according to more detailed characteristics and actual clues.
