Abstract
An expert system for traffic safety uses a knowledge base for the interpretation of data bases with accident data and road and traffic characteristics. For detection, diagnosis and remedy automatized procedures are developed, based on the knowledge of the relationships between accidents and road and traffic systems. Automatized design specifications lead to countermeasures.
