Abstract

The research hypothesis here is that driver stress is a compound function of factors intrinsic (traffic conditions) and extrinsic (personal life) to driving. One aim of the study was to produce a self- report instrument which would be relatively quick and easy to complete and which could be validated for use as a measure of driver stress. Therefore a pilot questionnaire which became known as the General Driving Behaviour Inventory GDBI.
