Abstract

The role of the ANWB for the promotion of the use of the bicycle in the Netherlands is given. Presently there are some 7.5 million bicycles and some 1.75 million mopeds in the Netherlands. From accident data it appears that 10 to 15% of the casualties in traffic are cyclists and 30-35% moped riders. Abridged contents of "Cycling-tracks along thorough fares" and "Regulations for cyclists and moped riders in the Netherlands" are added.
