Abstract

Advances in the field of electronics and telecommunication allow the development of new in-vehicle intelligent functions that will improve significantly safety, comfort and communication levels. Nevertheless a successful introduction of these new technologies needs a deep analysis of the challenges and requirements in terms of customer expectations, sensors improvements, in-vehicle electronic architecture or human-machine interface issues. This study analyses first the different advanced functions that are expected for next generation vehicles. Then the challenges and requirements arediscussed. Afterwards, some research experiences carried out by CTAG in this field are presented. For the covering abstract see E134653.
