Abstract

This group covers children following the basic curriculum in secondary school (classes 1, 2 and 3), i.e. age group 12-14. They are unprotected in traffic as pedestrians or cyclists. They are not yet physically and mentally mature, nor are they capable of dealing with the dynamics of the traffic, except in protective situations, e.g. designated residential areas. They are smaller than adults and easily overlooked. They can behave in unpredictable ways and do not pay much attention to the traffic situation, they can make mistakes in their routines.
