Abstract

Rear impact test methodologies for reducing minor neck injuries are examined internationally by ISO, GTR, etc. In these test methodologies, the repeatability and reproducibility with respect to the dummies together with their biofidelity are important issues. In the present study, in order to clarify the problems in the repeatability and reproducibility of BioRID-II dummies, HYGE sled tests to compare BioRID-II and Hybrid-III dummies were conducted. Sled acceleration pulse with delta V = 16 km/h was used for testing. The differences in the responses attributable to the different structures were observed between BioRID-II and Hybrid-III.
