Factors in urban pedestrian collisions.

Abstract

Multidisciplinary accident investigations and computerized pedestrian accident records were used to determine factors in urban vehicle pedestrian collisions. Accident frequency variations are described, along with socio-economic and land use factors, characteristics of participants, accident severity, intoxication and drinking, and typical collision patterns.
