Abstract

Since records began in 1926, reported road fatalities have fallen by almost 80 per cent, with steady falls since the peacetime in 1966. Motor traffic levels have more than doubled since recording began in 1949, which means the relative risk of road deaths has fallen significantly. (Author/publisher)
