The object of the research is to determine the effects of average blood alcohol concentrations of 1.3 promille on driver behaviour. This was studied by means of a driving test. The behavioural errors were observed and 6 variables of the vehicle movements were recorded. An experimental group (n = 32) and a control group (n = 23) drove on the test route in a specially equipped vehicle. Afterwards both groups drove over the section when they were not under the influence of alcohol. Two hours later a second journey was underkaken; the control group drove under the same conditions as before, and the experimental group under the influence of alcohol. A significant increase in errors was noticed in the experimental group, and this was particularly marked during complicated driving tasks.
