Abstract

A total of 520 road crashes in western sydney, australia, to which ambulances had been called, were attended by multidisciplinary teams in the period october 1976 to june 1977. The first quarterly report* published provided information on procedures used and the case histories of 71 crashes investigated. This second quarterly report publishes the case histories of 96 crashes investigated in-depth at the scene and in follow up investigation during the second three month period of the study. During the quarter 174 crashes were attended. Of these 78 did not involve a pedestrian, pedal cycle, motorcycle, truck or bus and were not studied in-depth. The remaining 96 crashes, of which 27 involved pedestrians, 6 pedal cycles, 36 motor-cycles, 2 buses and 32 trucks, were subject to in-depth study and are reported here. This is the second of three quarterly reports. (Author/publisher)
