Abstract

In this paper a method is presented to translate the results of a falling weight deflection measurement into a straight forward matrix in such a way that a practical implementation in a pavement management system (PMS), on network level, will be possible. In this way a practical combination and translation from data collected during a visual inspection and data collected from a falling weight deflection measurement into a PMS has been made. The presented method takes into account the effect of the category of road (traffic load). This paper ends with some conclusions concerning the use and benefit of a falling weight deflection measurement in a PMS. (A)
