Abstract
India is fast emerging as a major world force in transport technology butis also making huge strides in developing its public transport, notably in the dominant bus sector. Fleets are expanding, substantial ITS investments are being made, modern vehicle designs are being introduced and servicelevels targeted. This article discusses the variable conditions of the Indian road system; the iBUS; and e-ticketing.
