Abstract

The FARS analytic reference guide has seven sections. Three of these sections address each of the three principle files, namely the Accident, Vehicle, and Person files. Each of these three sections is divided into three subsections. The first subsection is a crosstabulation or index of the variables and key words/topics for the file. The variables and key words are in alphabetical order in the first column. The names of the variables are in upper case, while the key words are in lower case. The second subsection lists all of the variables by year for the file. The third subsection contains detailed information on each of the variables. (Author/publisher)
