Abstract

More and more applications in Intelligent Transport System (ITS) require using Geographic Information System (GIS) database as basic knowledge for their information service; furthermore the applications usually need the up-to-date spatial information especially for the navigation database. To use the spatial datasets from multi-source is the fastest way to update theGIS database, because the acquisition methods for the spatial datasets have been extremely fast in now days. This paper presents a fast linear feature conflation algorithm for unevenly distributed linear feature during the harmonization procedure in large areas for multi-model navigation database. It constructs the zones and get control point pairs in the reference and target dataset, and then it generate the Delaunay triangle network for each regions, at last it transfer the linear feature using rubber-sheetingmethod. The area around Munich was selected for verification and it analyzes the results of the algorithm at last.
