Fatal cervical dislocation related to wearing a seat belt : a case report.

Abstract

An accident in which the use of seat belts were lifesaving for the driver but involved the death of the front-seat passenger, restrained by a retractable three-point belt, is described. The passenger suffered cervical dislocation, of which a biomechanical and technical analysis is given.
