Abstract

Fatal Road Accidents: In the ten years from 1928 to 1937, 2.046.091 people were injured on the roads of Great Britain, and 67.738 died as a result of injuries. In the past ten years, 4.438.908 were injured in traffic accidents and 70.074 died - an increase of 2336. This increased number of deaths represents a surprisingly small proportion of the total number of injured, compared with the figures of four decades ago. In relative terms, therefor, road-accident fatalities are decreasing.
