Abstract

The persistent downward trajectory in the traffic fatality rate during the past 90 years suggests that fatality-free travel on North Carolina's streets and highways may one day be a reality. Multiple interventions, including raising the driving age to 17 years and banning cell phone use, will help North Carolina achieve this vision. (Author/publisher)
