Abstract

The feasibility of free bus service based on a survey and analysis of a selected area of Denver is discussed. It was found that total transportation expense was less under a free bus system than under the present fare system, but the margin of advantage was small. Free bus service has the potential of being beneficial, but it is emphasized that it should be tested and monitored to demonstrate its worth.
