Abstract

The federal motor vehicle safety act became effective January 1, 1971 in Canada. This act is the second major piece of legislation pertaining to traffic safety enacted in the last couple of years. The act provides for safety standards that will govern the design, construction and functioning of motor vehicles to protect persons against personal injury, impairment of health, and death.
