Feet accompli: Linking people with places.

Author(s)
Copeland, P.
Abstract

Fuel costs, environmental consciousness and human frustration are given as advocates in the research for alternatives that will bring the pedestrian back to the streets. The author summarises design concepts that have been used in American and European cities to enhance the pedestrian environment. The town as a whole should be considered, not just the centre balancing the traffic system with the pedestrian system.
