Fiels test of a motorcycle safety education course for novice riders.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to subject the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Motorcycle Rider Course (MRC) to a large-scale field test designed to evaluate the following aspects of the course: 1) Instructional effectiveness, 2) User Acceptance, and 3) Administrative Feasibility. Results of the field test evaluations indicated that: -Course graduates acquired the basic skills and knowledge required for street riding, -The MRC is administratively feasible in terms of its schedule, costs and demands places upon instructors, students and facilities, -Students and instructors found the course to be a valuable and enjoyable experience, and -School administrators and parents approve of the course and would like to see it continued in their school system.
