Abstract

Cyclists and moped riders behave often like cats and dogs and it seems useful to segregate them. They have only one thing in common: their enemy the car traffic. During the last years much has been done to protect the cyclist and the moped rider more or less against car traffic: crash helmets for moped riders, separate cycle tracks, decrease of driving speeds of cars in residential streets, better visibility of cyclists by reflection. Measures in the field of vehicle construction could also improve the safety of cyclists and moped- riders.
