Abstract

The most important results of the project "Task Analysis Cyclists and Moped Riders" with respect to 6 to 12 year old cyclists (primary school children) are presented. The accident risk of the target group, that is the number of accidents per kilometre, is higher than that of the secondary school children. Of the total group of 6 to 12 year olds the 6 to 8 year olds are particularly at risk, that is approximately after one or two years of . . cycling experience. It is concluded that the development of skills and knowledge is slower than is required for the situations in which they are gradually involved.
