Abstract

It currently requires a great deal of effort on the part of transport companies or lorry drivers transporting heavy or dangerous goods to access relevant information concerning their trips. For this reason the LKZ Prien decided, together with international partners, to launch the FIMSAA study which is set to develop an online information and management centre with special focus on extra-heavy and dangerous goods transports. This centre shall provide, apart from dedicated information services, a system for a fastauthorisation of extra-heavy and dangerous goods transports across borders. With this capability, cross-border transports will be more flexible to manage if they have to deviate from the authorised route. Within 2006 special emphasis will be put on the traffic management of extra-heavy and dangerous goods transports, the required data and interfaces as well as the progression of an operational concept. For the covering abstract see E134653.
