Abstract

This document analyses the impacts of the proposed fuel economy standards for model years 1980 and 1981 light trucks and vans over and above the standards set for model year 1979, and an assumed level for vehicles not subject to the 1979 standard. Part II of this impact assessment states the assumptions used in this analysis. This is followed by a micro-assessment of the proposal's impact on individual manufacturers and consumers. Part IV discusses the employment and macro-impacts (national economic impacts) of the proposal and Part V contains a discussion of alternative courses of action. (A)
