Abstract

This paper describes how the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) Proof of Concept (POC) included the implementation of a small-scale version of the conceptual VII infrastructure system. All elements and interfaces ofthe system were tested through direct functional and performance testing and through indirect applications test and assessment. Overall, the POC findings showed that basic requirements of the VII concept worked well. However, the tests revealed several opportunities for the intelligent transportation system (ITS) community to further explore and develop the VII concept.
