Abstract

The test track built by the CEDEX Road Research Centre at El Goloso on the outskirts of Madrid is a step forward in the field of lineal tracks because it extends the length of the test area and also increases the load application speed. It was built in 1987 and came into operation in January 1988. A description of the installation and of the first test carried out are given, including the definition of parameters and criteria used and an initial analysis of the results obtained (surface evenness, surface cracking, and deflections). Finally, the general conclusions are given and the consequences of the test for the Spanish Design Catalogue are discussed. (Author/publisher)
