Abstract

Specifically, impacts from the rear direction to the rear portions of the car were considered, providing that the car did not roll over, and was not involved in a secondary impact. Only U.S. made sedans, hardtops, and station wagons were included, and the occupants accounted for were not ejected from the vehicle, nor were they restrained by seat belts or comparable devices, or used head rests.
