Abstract

A state of the art report of forecasting car ownership and use is presented. In spite of the economic and social context, car ownership continues to increase and information is needed at different decision-making levels to evaluate long-range development programs. A number of conclusions and recommendations aimed at a better understanding of individual car usage and behaviour patterns taking into account the changing economic conditions of past years as well as energy constraints.
