Abstract

In regional planning problems arise from the uncertainty of financial resource allocation in the public sector at national level. The degree of match between estimated and outturn expenditure on the local transport program is therefore examined. Some suggestions are made about the wider role of financial considerations in regional planning and some issues for further research are discussed.
