Abstract

Recent treads in goods vehicle numbers in Ireland are reviewed. During the 1970's goods vehicle numbers grew substantially while the move towards heavier vehicles slowed. This is in contrast to the 1960's. It is expected that, by the year 2000, vehicle numbers, vehicle numbers will stand at 110500 as compared with the 1980 level of 64500 - an increase of 70%.
