Abstract

The use of a citizens'' advisory committee to explore new airport facilities in the Louisville area is described. The committee, with 160 members, operates through a steering committee, an executive committee, and 9 functional task forces (e.g. on-site design, land acquisition, finance). The broad demonstrated involvement of the Committee is clearly shaping planning decisions and in the future will shape those development decisions that flow from the planning process.
