Abstract

Urban goods movement (UGM), or urban commodity flow, has been defined as the transportation of, and terminal activities associated with, the movement of things as opposed to people in urban areas. The objectives of this study were: (1) Identification of the available research projects in Canada on UGM issues; (2) Development of a classification scheme on the basis of identified UGM project; and (3) Assessment of Canadian UGM as consistent with the classification scheme.
