Abstract

The main road development plan in Sydney is briefly discussed. The object of the plan is to provide a road system that forms an integral part of the transportation system as a whole. Details are given of the different types of journey made in cities. Problems of traffic congestion at peak hours, the severing of communities and landscape scars are discussed.
