Abstract

The objectives of this research were to delineate metropolitan neighbourhoods investigate the effect of the introduction of a freeway on residential mobility, analyse freeway neighbourhood relationship categories, and interpret these fin dings in a causal and predictive framework. Residential mobility can be expected to increase significantly if a neighbourhood is segmented by the freeway right-of-way.
