On the frequency of accidents of different types.

Abstract

The relation between the number of accidents of a certain type and the frequency of the kind of traffic situation in which that type of accident occurs is discussed. In particular single accidents, overtaking and head-on collisions are considered. The average number of accidents of the three types are compared and some illustrative examples are given.
