Abstract

For the purpose of uniformly determining the crash behaviour of motor vehicles, internationally laid down crash tests are today conducted. It is shown, however, that present day crash tests reproduce actual accident circumstances only to an inadequate degree. On the basis of 1626 damaged vehicles a frequency categorization of types of damage is therefore set up.
