Abstract

The tyre-pavement friction demands of vehicles performing passing manoeuvres are determined by photographing and analyzing passing manoeuvres performed under actual highway conditions. Critical friction requirements are proposed for application to skidding accident prevention, programs that incorporate minimum skid resistance levels and wet-weather speed limits.
