Abstract

A system has been developed for analysing the fuel consumption of commercial vehicles. Transducers for measuring accelerator position, fuel flow, torque in the drive shaft and speed are used. A data logging unit scans these transducers and records the results on magnetic tape. Subsequent storage of data, analysis and presentation of results is achieved using a mini computer. Examples of test procedures and typical results are shown. (Author/publisher)
