Abstract

Design and properties of an experimental capsule car seat during collision tests on both rear and sides of several cars are given, and compared with those of other safety chairs and a usual chair provided with safety belts. Deceleration figures were measured on different body parts of dummy driver and passenger. The insufficient padding could be easily rectified. Requirements for a safety seat are given.
