Abstract

Experimental results are presented of two full-scale crash tests of the Ductile Beam Barrier Concept. The structure yielded and deformed on impact in general accordance with the design criteria established for the ductile beam concept. The objective of this concept is to reduce severity of injury producing and property damage accidents that occur in collisions between vehicles and fixed objects near the roadway.
