Abstract

Using a transfer of training paradigm, training analysis of 27 driver skill tasks were conducted using an innovative technique called a training event analysis. The purpose of the training event analysis was to provide basic documentation pertinent to curriculum development and the derivation of the capabilities required of skill training devices. The development of a "model" curriculum and description of "ideal" training devices are discussed along with the inadequacies of several currently available devices.
