Abstract
A general survey is provided of the fundamental features which must be taken into account with glare and thus with anti- dazzle measures. In this connection it turns out that all glare phenomena can in principle be tracked back to the same causes. It also becomes clear that in many cases there is a clear distinction between disability glare and discomfort glare. It is pleaded for an improved city running light for motor vehicles.
