Abstract

A condensation, interpretation and amplification of the principal conclusions reached at the Boston meeting are presented. The theme of the conference was basic research and the achievement of a fuller understanding of the physical and chemical processes underlying automotive vehicle technology. It was concluded that through development and application of advanced technology, it is possible to achieve a total motor vehicle system with less dependence on imported petrol than that legislatively mandated by the mid-1980's.
