Abstract

Fuzzy logic has been widely used in traffic signal control systems recently, but many fuzzy controllers are based on the simple if-then rule sets. For complex problem such as signal control of two adjacent intersections, fuzzy hierarchical control methods are necessary. This paper proposes a fuzzy hierarchical control algorithm of two adjacent intersections and verifies the algorithm using simulation software.
