Abstract

Road accidents are a serious social problem. Each year almost 7,000 are killed on Polish roads, and more than 60,000 are injured; some of them remain disabled for the rest of their lives. Road accidents casualties are mainly young people, in the active working age. It is estimated that accident related losses borne by the public within one year amount to 7.5 blm zloty which makes approximately 7% of the state yearly budget.
