Abstract

This paper describes the road safety management organization of the "GAMBIT" project. This is a comprehensive road safety improvement project in Poland. By building up an integrated safety programme, the "GAMBIT" project aims to help decision makers and professionals working on safety studies and countermeasure implementation in Poland. The project is based on a dynamic approach to the problem of road hazards. This consolidates various accident causes and organizational responsibility into a cohesive programme. The "GAMBIT" project was commissioned by the Polish government. The project will be carried out by a consortium of special research and professional units, over the next two years.
