Abstract

Australean current knowledge of bicycle safety is reviewed and compared with the road safety of motor vehicles. It is concluded that bicycle safety is an addressable problem and that considerable improvements are possible through suitable countermeasure programs. However, insufficient is currently known for the development and /or evaluation of many programs.
